This is kind of fun,a nice way to spice up what would otherwise be dull text.If one used the source code and their own pictures for the application above,that would be a great way to advertise your products/services and your creativity.
I've always liked the make your own poster/magazine applications,these can be fun and one thing that is critical to a lot of the internet apps and trends seems to be the ability to customize things to reflect the individual or group using it.
