I've signed up to Twitter, but you have to "follow" on Plurk?Anyway,I'm new to social media because I don't really have a lot to say.A lot of social media seems to enable or influence people to simply talk..out loud.I don't quite understand the benefit or importance of plurking or twittering every mundane detail of one's daily life.I've always been fascinated by the idea that random people can follow your feed and some people consider this friendship.
I'm not yet sure how these applications could enhance my school or professional life.I'm already on Facebook and fairly careful of what I post.I've already seen people backtracking when they realize their bosses have access to their Facebook page. There are also lots of mini games on Facebook which I refuse to bother with. What is interesting is people are talking about MySpace being old news..it's hard to keep up with this stuff.Who decides what's the hip or proper media app to be using?
