Things 4 and 5

I've signed up to Twitter,but you have to "follow" on Plurk?Anyway,I'm new to social media because I don't really have a lot to say.A lot of social media seems to enable or influence people to simply talk..out loud.I don't quite understand the benefit or importance of plurking or twittering every mundane detail of one's daily life.I've always been fascinated by the idea that random people can follow your feed and some people consider this friendship.

I'm not yet sure how these applications could enhance my school or professional life.I'm already on Facebook and fairly careful of what I post.I've already seen people backtracking when they realize their bosses have access to their Facebook page.There are also lots of mini games on Facebook which I refuse to bother with.What is interesting is people are talking about MySpace being old news..it's hard to keep up with this stuff.Who decides what's the hip or proper media app to be using?

The AI Campus Portal is a nice addition because it is a "one-stop" for the basic needs of the student.I haven't had the chance to use it for checking grades, but it is nice to have this instead of having to go to the AI website everytime.

The RSS assignment is right up my alley,as I do pretty much the same type of multiple headline scanning with my i-google page.

The interesting thing about all these applications is seeing how quickly advertising is integrated into a good majority of it.

And it begins..

Started the blog a few days ago, haven't transferred my yahoo avatar over yet.
A little late in starting but it should be a good workout to do these 16 things,and learn what
the heck everyone is up to on these...interwebnet things...as I usually don't pay attention
to every new social network or app that pops up.But now,of course I must start paying attention
and interacting!
